Zamora council distributes to more than 5,000 school children
The institution distributes more than 10,000 ‘reciclapilas’ and “table container for used batteries” from Cervic between children and councils with the objective to collect used batteries.
County Council bets for Cervic products as they have been specially designed to facilitate and to promote used batteries collection at home, office, etc… Allow a secure, clean and easy store at the same time it separates used batteries from other waste streams.
No recycled used batteries are a very toxic waste. Based in several reports, one sole battery can contaminate up to 3,000 liter of water. For this reason Zamora County Council will distribute also 700 units of 3l table container between councils and communities of the province to allow citizens to place used batteries previously collected at home. Furthermore, the Institution will distribute 600 testers at Councils for checking batteries status as it is also confirmed that “60% of batteries thrown to garbage are still useful and not at all flat”
