Osaka Bench and Planter in Elda: A Solution Designed for People
The City Council of Elda (Elda) has renewed part of its urban center with an elegant and functional solution: the modular Osaka system. On Dahellos Street, one of the city’s busiest streets, Osaka benches and planters made of WPC have been installed – a material that offers the warm look of wood, without the maintenance.
Smart Design for Everyday Life
The configurations created with the Osaka system allow for the integration of rest areas and greenery. The choice of modules in different shapes and heights has resulted in a more welcoming, modern, and comfortable environment for pedestrians.
Why Was WPC Chosen?
Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) was selected for this project due to its many advantages:
- Natural appearance that mimics tropical wood
- Maintenance-free: no need for regular treatments
- Highly durable against humidity, UV rays, and wear
- Environmentally responsible: made from recycled materials
- Safe and comfortable: smooth surface, no splinters or deterioration
The Result: A More Human Space
The intervention on Calle Dahellos shows how a well-designed modular solution can truly transform an urban space. The Osaka system not only enhances aesthetics – it encourages people to use, rest, and connect in the public space.
